In the ninetees, the Faculty of Economics and Econometrics of the Vrije Universiteit started a field of study on spatial data and GIS.
As (Phd) student and employee in this field of study, we started developing and using our software libraries to support other researches at the University for GIS projects, especially with network calculations. These libraries have been developed in multiple iterations into the current GeoDMS software.
Predecessors of our company were established by the end of the ninetees, when we started to develop one of our core products, The Ruimtescanner. This development was an important step in the development of the GeoDMS, especially for multiple fast grid calculations.
The first years of this century we had a joint venture with a software company in Haarlem, where we also had our office. This offered the potential to develop the GeoDMS software with a larger team of experienced software developers.
Since 2006 we are back at the Vrije Universiteit, as our focus moved from developing the core of the software to support more applications. In 2006 the current company Object Vision BV is established. Since 2006 we have our office and work together with the Vrije Universiteit.
The software is developed with also more vector related operations and is used for a scala of applications on to support policy on many social issues.
